Today was two stories, not five: the small-model tier commoditized, and the regulators finally wrote agents into the governance perimeter. Each one in isolation is a buyer-side win — cheaper inference, clearer rules — but together they shorten the window where "experimental agent pilot" is a defensible procurement posture. The next twelve months separate teams that productionized while the floor was moving from teams that waited for stability that is no longer coming. Considered and passed: Manus's $500M round (single CNBC source, no valuation disclosed) and the Meta VP's one-person-unicorn claim (no customer, no number).
