Today’s Take
Three of today's five stories describe things being built; two describe the ground shifting under them. Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta have converged on the same proactive-agent product shape in the same quarter — the capability race is now a distribution race — while Treasury widens the outbound-investment net and the NSA quietly reclassifies frontier models as both vulnerability-finders and vulnerability-enablers. The through-line is that the capital, the regulator and the attacker have all moved first this week; the model updates are catching up. Watch next week's hyperscaler earnings for whether the spread move forces anyone to defend capex in words. Considered and passed: the Pathos AI / BMS $237M oncology round (strong deal, but a data-partnership story more than an agent story) and the Anthropic formal-verification claim (lab blog only, no external validation).
