Three of today's five stories are governments and courts moving on agents while the labs are still writing the essays. The Bessent hotline, the UN precautionary brief, and Buist v. Anthropic each treat "the labs will handle it" as an insufficient answer — and Amazon's Muse block extends the same logic into private infrastructure, where the retailer, not the agent, sets the rules. The bet that broke this quarter is the one that assumed agent access to third-party platforms was a default; the bet still working is capital markets' willingness to fund the frontier at any spread.
