Stat of the Day

74%

of enterprises have rolled back a live AI customer-communications agent after deployment

Sinch's global survey of 2,527 senior decision-makers across 10 countries, published today, attributes the rollbacks to governance failures rather than model capability. (Sinch / PR Newswire)

Today’s Take

Today's stories rhyme: every dollar of yesterday's $157M in agent-infrastructure funding is a bet that the rollback rate Sinch just published is permanent — that production agents will keep failing in ways the previous generation of tooling couldn't see, and that fixing them is a bigger market than building them. The frontier labs are reading the same data and reaching a different conclusion: if enterprises can't deploy our models without forward-deployed engineers, we'll just own the engineers too. Meanwhile Brussels is trying to decide whether the regulatory regime built for a world of "AI as a product feature" can survive contact with a world where the agent, the SDK that calls it, the SOC that watches it, and the consultant who installed it are all owned by the same three companies. The bet that's working in May 2026 is picks-and-shovels for agents in production. The bet that's clearly not working is "ship the agent, figure out governance later."
