The Partnership Terms

TypeLaw, an AI-enabled legal brief and appendix formatter founded in 2014, and Re-Qwest Legal Technologies, a document imaging and reprographic services provider established in 2011, announced a referral partnership on June 2, 2026. Under the agreement, TypeLaw clients needing printing and binding will be referred to Re-Qwest. Re-Qwest clients seeking brief formatting and citation hyperlinking will be referred to TypeLaw.

TypeLaw produces local-rules-compliant, e-file-ready PDFs for state and federal courts nationwide. The company reports having prepared more than 10,000 filings since 2014 (company-reported). Re-Qwest offers appellate printing, binding, litigation scanning, trial binder preparation, and exhibit boards, primarily for California and federal courts.

Channel Efficiency, Not Innovation

Neither company disclosed new capabilities, cost reductions, or speed improvements. The partnership is a referral arrangement: firms already using one service now have a named vendor recommendation for the other. This is routine in legal services, where downstream operations (printing, shipping, binding) have historically sat outside the software vendor's scope.

The arrangement reflects confidence that appellate filing—both the formatting and the physical copy—remains a live workflow. Despite e-filing mandates in most jurisdictions, firms still order printed and bound copies for judges, opposing counsel, and appellate records.
