Our Take
A growing conference expanding into a new geography is routine venue news, not a shift in how legal tech practitioners work or buy.
Why it matters
For in-house counsel and legal ops leaders in North America, this signals a regional consolidation point for vendor briefings and peer networks. For vendors, Miami positioning reflects a bet on pan-Americas deal flow.

LegalTechTalk expands to North America
LegalTechTalk announced on 17 June that it will hold its first USA conference in Miami, Florida in December 2027. The event is backed by 55 founding launch partners and 72 confirmed speakers spanning legal, technology and professional services leaders.
The London-founded conference held its inaugural event in June 2024, drawing 5,500 international legal decision makers. The Miami event marks the company's first footprint in North America and reflects expansion beyond its single-market origin.
Founding partners include Agiloft, Clio, Consilio, Cleary Gottlieb, Everlaw, Filevine, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, iManage, LexisNexis CounselLink, Litera, Luminance, Mitratech, Onit, PwC, Wolters Kluwer, and more than 20 others (company-reported). Confirmed speakers span technology heads, managing partners, and general counsel at The New Yorker, BNY, ABB, McDonald's, AWS, Eversheds Sutherland, and similar organizations.
Regional consolidation of vendor access
The conference model concentrates legal tech vendors, law firms, and corporate legal buyers in a single venue twice per year. For attendees, that reduces the cost of relationship-building across fragmented vendor categories (contract management, e-discovery, AI writing, legal operations platforms). For vendors, it creates a captive audience of budget-holding decision makers without the expense of individual roadshows.
Miami's selection reflects geographic arbitrage: it sits within reach of USA in-house counsel, Latin American legal teams, and Atlantic Rim firms. The 18-month lead time allows vendors to commit sponsorship budgets and customers to plan procurement cycles around the event.
The conference does not claim to introduce new products, set industry standards, or publish benchmarks. It is a market-making venue, not a technical or research institution.
Schedule and budget planning
In-house counsel and legal operations leaders should add December 2027 to their annual calendar now. Venue capacity typically fills early with sponsorship commitments, and hotel availability in Miami during peak season tightens months in advance.
If your legal tech roadmap includes vendor evaluation, procurement, or team capability-building, a regional conference reduces the per-capita cost of doing so compared to multiple vendor-hosted briefings or small-group visits. Confirm budget allocation with your CFO by mid-2027 to avoid scheduling conflicts or last-minute hotel premiums.
