Our Take
A conference call-for-proposals is routine conference business, not news.

Healthcare technologists and clinicians planning 2026 speaking slots or attendance should begin preparing submissions now. HIMSS remains the largest healthcare IT event in Europe.

HIMSS27 opens submission windows for Copenhagen
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is accepting proposals for its 2027 European conference, HIMSS27, running May 19–21, 2026 in Copenhagen. The organizers describe the event as a 3-day program offering "hands-on learning" and CE-accredited clinical sessions alongside exhibition space.
HIMSS also hosts a separate AI in Healthcare Forum scheduled for June 25–26 in Boston. That event is billed as a two-day convening of clinicians, executives, technologists, researchers, and innovators focused on real-world AI deployment in health and care settings.
Venue matters more than content at this stage
HIMSS27 in Copenhagen signals the organization's commitment to expanding European healthcare IT leadership engagement. The timing (May 2026) clusters natively with existing North American events and gives regional practitioners a home conference. The separate Boston AI forum in June suggests HIMSS is segmenting audiences: clinical/operational technology leaders at the main conference, AI practitioners and researchers at the specialized June track.
For vendors, the two-event cadence creates two distinct windows to position technology: enterprise and operations (May, Copenhagen) versus AI research and deployment (June, Boston).
Prepare submissions now for May 2026
Healthcare IT speakers and vendors should audit their 2026 event calendar and map submissions to the appropriate venue. Submit to HIMSS27 if your content targets hospital operations, clinical IT integration, or multi-vendor deployments. Submit to the AI in Healthcare Forum if your talk addresses model selection, deployment workflow, or clinical validation of AI systems.
Proposal deadlines and submission portals are available through Healthcare Finance News and the official HIMSS website.
