The tool operates within a staff-only version of the Gemini app and is described internally as a "24/7 personal agent" meant to turn Gemini into an assistant that acts on users' behalf.
Remy represents Google's push to expand Gemini beyond chat-based responses toward autonomous task execution. The agent is designed to integrate with Google services, monitor user-relevant information, handle complex tasks, and learn user preferences. Google declined to comment, and the reporting did not specify a public release timeline or identify which Google services are included in the current employee testing.
Gemini's connected surface creates agent foundation
